Voluntary Work and Me

Mr. Lor Ratana, the fourth year student of Economics of Law from Royal University of Law and Economics, said that his voluntary work was so useful and deeply meaningful for him because the voluntary work made him clearly understand more work in the communities by hoping to become a recognized person with higher value. He said he could make friendships, knowledge and skill exchange and co-organized with Cambodian citizens and other NGOs in order to gain the attention in their country development effectively.

Voluntary work has provided human-beings of all generations with a lot of advantages because most human-beings thought that they got older and older and have accomplished their work by spending their time in voluntary work. Meanwhile, in our society could attain all outcomes from the volunteers and could conserve the importances in the social network and region. It was clear we have daily life skills to be sharing to each other. All types of young and old volunteers gained advantages from their voluntary work, gained new skills and met the interesting person and transfer these advantages to the society as well.

After completing his work to assist the Youth Empowerment Unit (YEU Assistant) in the past, he thought that he had proudly gained much knowledge and good experiences, better than his past if compared before he started to work for YRDP such as national and interantional event organizing because he expressed his own opinions and showed the reality and the recent Khmer society basic needs in the events.

When he firstly started to work in YEU of YRDP, he did not know from what first point he could start working but actually he was aware of many ways of how we could work to assist YEU staff with punctuality based on the action plan. Particularly, he caused the new ideas by himself and took step by step in selecting key points to become the effective program developer with strong confidence and trusted from YRDP’s staff. In addition, it could help him create and organize the workshop to exchange experiences with foreigners, be brave in speaking out his opinions, know coordinating methods in life and position of program organizers, implement programs, to follow a trail of project, analyzing project, group working, suggest budget to apply a project, how to select volunteer youth, communication work, how to work with good communication, learn from other behavior, modality of work with to give the person value don’t look useless because people have no the same.  As for communication for me is strange and so happy, i learned from it so much to make love to be friends from all of volunteer and staff and it also a opportunity to study how to work from them. Because of experiences, knowledge that YRDP provided for me to try and to join in society it make me got a best work was a compromiser at Karol & Setha organization.

All point in above showed that the result of Youth Empowerment made me got a lot of experience that increase my ability and growed from day to day to glorify my life.

The point that i got it seem encourage me to joint with society work and other way however it is out of reach, a small point of work to help social also i think that it can develop our country.

This point is a positive thinking to joint develop society to peace and eternity.

Short meaning, voluntary work is work that give me a opportunity let me to develop of my knowledge, experience, skill, criticle thinking and make me have good behavior. Especially voluntary work make the social have alot of good human resource and grow up no limited. It showed about joint to make peace and develop also.

He performed as protocal speakers for the annual youth forum on Peaceful Culture and Cambodian Youth at YRDP.

His community voluntary work with foreign youth.

He actively joined in the International Youth Day.
