Volunteer Youth Clubs

for

Community Development

After Finishing the Personal Development (PD) course, many participants are inspired to form Volunteer Youth Club (VYCs). The clubs are supported with technical advice from the Youth Empowerment Unit (YEU). The clubs aim to exchange knowledge and information with villagers through workshops, discussion groups, dialogue and campaigns. The activities also help youth learn real situation of the communities and local administration and governance.

Each year, YRDP provide grant for a maximum of 1,000 US. Dollars to 10 clubs that are successful in applying for communities project proposals. Before the grant launching, YRDP always provide an orientation club capacity building on Proposal Writing and once the club are selected to be funded, they will be supported with other 3 capacity buildings on Training for Trainer, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Report writing, trained and shared by YRDP alumni or former club members. All club members are also engaged to participate in other social and volunteered works as the organizing committees, speakers, and participants.

So far, there were 10 clubs among the formed clubs has transformed themselves as the local NGOs and currently also keep strong networks with YRDP.

In 2011, 10 clubs have been implementing their communities project on 4 main aspects such as: Non-violence community, Traffic Safety and Law Enforcement, Local livelihood development, Youth and Critical Thinking Skill, and Social Accountability project.
