EITCC Annual Evaluation
Youth in Action for Extractive Industry Transparency and Climate Change Unit (YAEITCCU) of YRDP organized its annual evaluation session on December 5, 2011 at the YRDP's office attended by 65 youths from different universities with a core group and the organizational staff of EITCCU program of YRDP.
This session was conducted to make sure that, since January, our youth who joined in the various programs have shared knowledge and information about oil and gas, climate change to others? What they have learned from the program and have performed activities in the society? Mostly, it was focused on the main role of the youth to do their activities related to extractive industry transparency and climate change. How much this program affected their lives?
During the discussion, youth wanted our RGC transparently implement the oil and gas pumping revenue management; however, some of them proposed RGC to delay the delay of pumping oil because they concerned the impacts of pumping oil to influence the environment. The youth role was to respond the environment of climate change. As a youth who successfully accomplished attending in the program should do something to keep our environment clean.
As the result of the full-morning discussion session, some of youths released out their concerns when RGC start to pump oil next year because it might affect the national revenue from the tourism sector in Sihanouk province where mostly popular place to visit both international and national tourists.
