The Youth Resource Development Program (YRDP) Desk Review was commissioned by CCFD, AJWS, D&P, and French Embassy in partnership with other youth organizations that are currently planning for the 2016-2018 Cambodia Employment Enhancement. The timeframe of the youth and employment analysis is being adjusted to coincide with the launching of the national youth employment policy 2016-2025 and the YRDP Strategic Plan 2015-2020. A Cambodian Youth and Employment Analysis has been conducted in the last quarter of 2015 using a qualitative approach with desk study to inform a joint planning process and program execution as baseline values that include the Royal Government of Cambodia, civil society, and other key stakeholders. The Youth and Employment Analysis complementary analysis has been undertaken through a desk review of literature provided by the Youth Resource Development Program and relevant stakeholders in Cambodia. The analysis focuses on the situation of Cambodian employment in different sectors and the status of youth employment. The overall objective of youth employment analysis is to explore in depth employment related information in Cambodia and to update timely employment statistics for Cambodian youth, civil society stakeholders and the general public. The specific objectives are: to analyze the working age population, labor force, employment and unemployment status, vulnerable employment and average monthly wage for youth disaggregated by age, sex, education, occupation and geographic areas; and, to analyze the current employed people, job market, job and education matching, major challenges and proposed recommendations for YRDP and its relevant partners.
