The Cambodian Social Activists Foundation (CamSAF) was initiated in early 2015. The leading idea behind CamSAF is to ensure consistent youth development projects, by mobilizing technical and financial support to sustain a key area of the organization. The acquired sources will be used to support youth-led initiatives for social development, promotion of civil and political rights and protection of natural resources.
The foundation addresses former YRDP youth (Alumni) as well as the general public to become foundation members and thus becoming part (again) in YRDP’s current work.
After the national election 2013, YRDP observed a growing interest of youth to start own initiatives to promote social justice and development, democracy and green environment. CamSAF is YRDPs response to facilitate sustainably youth-driven initiatives for their country.
The forerunner project of CamSAF is YRDPs youth foundation existing since 2006, which provided financial support to female high school graduates who could not afford to enroll at university. Through this foundation, two female youth were able to study and graduate from higher education institution. We are delighted to see, that they work today with media and an INGO.
